Initial Training Session

Your first in-person session is where we move beyond general advice and begin working directly with you and your dog. This private 45-minute consultation allows me to observe your dog’s behaviour, understand what is happening in your everyday life and identify the clearest path forward.

Rather than applying a standard program to every dog, training is adapted to your dog’s temperament, learning history and current needs—as well as your experience, lifestyle and goals.

• Pulling on leash and difficulty walking calmly

• Jumping, overexcitement and poor impulse control

• Recall, focus and listening around distractions

• Puppy biting, chewing and household manners

• Fear, uncertainty, reactivity or low confidence

• Introducing clearer structure and boundaries at home

• Understanding why a behaviour is happening and what to do next

What We’ll Do Together

We’ll discuss your dog’s history, daily routine and the concerns that matter most to you. I’ll observe how your dog responds to you, the environment and different forms of guidance. From there, we’ll begin practical exercises and determine which training approach, handling techniques and equipment are most appropriate for your dog.

This is hands-on coaching for both you and your dog. You’ll learn what to do, why it works and how to practise it correctly at home.

One session can provide valuable clarity and a strong starting point, but lasting improvement depends on consistent practice between sessions. Some dogs and training goals may benefit from follow-up sessions or a multi-session package.
